Hi. I’m here today to talk to you about the benefits of healthy eating.
Why Is It So Important To Eat Healthy:
It is really important to eat really healthy food and do exercise to stay at a good and healthy weight. This can help to reduce your chances of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
Why Is Healthy Food Good For You:
Eating right gives you all the nutrients that your body needs to create new cells, clean toxins and to just function everyday. You need to eat a variety of healthy foods to give you energy including protein, carbohydrates, fat, water, vitamins and minerals.
What food should you avoid:
Foods that are very processed and contain lots of preservatives. Food and drinks that are really high in sugar like fizzy drinks and even orange juice. Did you know that a can of coke contains 9 ⅓ teaspoons of sugar in it. Super sweet cereals are full of sugar and should also be avoided. To be honest I would think that most people love coke but it's not really worth it.
What Are The Best Foods To Eat:
Raw natural unprocessed food such as fruit and vegetables. Good protein like fish, meat, and eggs are things that you should consider having regularly. Drinking clean water and milk is also a good thing to have everyday.
How To Keep A Balanced Diet:
The amount of raw sugar that you are meant to have a day is 37 grams. That adds up to about 9 teaspoons, which means we only are allowed to have one can of coke a day, but if you do then that's all the sugar that you are meant to have. That is not including fruit sugar. You should also be having the 5+ a day. That means getting a piece of fruit the size of your hand and having that everyday. If you do the 5+ a day then they need to be all different fruits. That's so that you don’t eat too many of one fruit.
So now you know that next time you see a carrot and a cupcake, go straight for the carrot. Thanks for listening to my speech, and I hope that you learnt something along the way.
